Evita Cast Conversations” to Lowcountry’s Latinx Community

Hilton Head Island, SC.   The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina is proud to be teaming up with “La Isla” magazine in some ways during the run of its production of “Evita,” May 2- 27. One of those collaborations includes a cast talk-back to be held Saturday, May 19 at the Hilton Head Island Public Library from 3 – 4 pm featuring select members of the “Evita” cast to discuss their experiences as a Latinx performer.

Free of charge with refreshments to follow, the conversation is open to the public, but a special invitation is extended to the Latinx community.

“We look forward to reaching out to the Lowcountry’s Latinx community and offering a forum to have the opportunity to connect with our actors – many of whom are bilingual,” stated Arts Center President/CEO Kathi Bateson. “Our production of ‘Evita,’ which is set in Argentina, provides a unique platform to reach this community and its youth, whom we welcome with open arms to experience the show and all that we have to offer.”

Another way the Arts Center is providing outreach to the Latinx community is with a special performance at the Fiesta de Mayo, Sunday, May 20 (held from 12noon to 9 pm) at the Shelter Cove Community Park. Following “Evita’s” Sunday matinee, members of the cast will take the stage at the community park to perform a selection of songs from the smash hit show.

The Arts Center is a 501 ©-3 non-profit organization that combines a professional theater, year-round presentations, visual arts, educational workshops, camps and outreach festivals and programs to the community. The Arts Center is located at 14 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head Island, SC, and may be reached for tickets or more information by calling (843) 842-ARTS (2787).
