3 Inmates Escape from Orangeburg Detention Facility

Three inmates escaped Midland jail on May 19, 2018, and two of the inmates were up for murder charges according to The Island Packet. Tyshon Demontrea Johnson, 27; Curtis Ray Green, 20; and Christopher Shannon Boltin, 27. Johnson and Green were awaiting trial for murder charges while Bolton faced charges on grand larceny and carjacking.
The jail is just off U.S. 178, near Interstate 26 on Ellis Avenue in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Inmates should be considered dangerous and armed. Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell told media correspondents that inmates assaulted an officer but did not discuss injuries. Ravenell announced on Monday, May 20th through Facebook that Boltin has been captured.
Boltin's father, 51, and Tyree Hillard, 22, are facing felony charges for aiding an escape, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years. All three bond hearings will be held on Tuesday, May 22. Ravenell said that local police, U.S. Marshals Service and Local Law Enforcement will assist in the search of the remaining two escaped inmates.
The sheriff asked that if anyone has information on the whereabouts of Johnson and/or Green, they are asked to contact the OCSO immediately at 803-534-3550 or 1-888-CRIME-SC.
